I. Green
   1. ivy on Gatsby's house pg. 5 - jealousy has overtaken Gatsby
   2. Wilson's body in the grass pg. 162 - Jealousy overcomes both Wilson and Gatsby to the point of death
   3. Green light on the dock pg. 26 - represents Gatsby's jealousy of Daisy

II. White
   1. Location of the story (East egg and West egg) the outside of the egg is white representing the innocence and purity that appears from the outside.
   2. White palaces Pg 5. - represents innocence that Daisy puts off. Her house is the white palace across the bay from Gatsby
   3. Daisy's name - outside of a daisy is white once again showing daisy's desire to appear pure and innocent.

III. Yellow
   1. Location of the story - inside the egg is yellow which represents the corruption of east and west egg.
   2. Yellow light - yellow light at the sight of myrtle's death symbolizes how her greed and corruption caused her death.
   3. Daisy's name - the inside of daisy is yellow which symbolizes the shallow and artificial nature of daisy.

3 paragraph

In the Great Gatsby the fairy tale archetype poor to rich is displayed by Gatsby. Gatsby was once a poor man. His parents were poor and shiftless, and Gatsby resented them. To young Gatsby materials were what was beautiful in this world and that is what he desired. He started off with  25,000 dollars that he inheirited from Dan Cody. He used that money to invest with Wolfsheim  and was soon to gain a fortune out of the bootlegging business.

#1 dust in Gatsby

1. This foul dust represents the death of Gatsby and his dream of being with Daisy
2. This dust refers to the decay in the relationship between Wilson and Myrtle. He is covered by white dust which means he is ghost like to his wife
3. Gatsby is telling nick all about his life and is lying about his story. nick realizes it. The sawdust represents how Gatsby is lying
4. Daisy wants to see Gatsby and is starting to move on. The shining dust symbolizes the decay of their relationship but the start of new ones.

6. The dust represents the death of Myrtle. Her blood is mixing with the dust so she is just decaying away
7. The dust in Gatsby's house represent how his life is falling apart and death is soon to come for him.
